Located in the heart of Queens, Luigi's Restaurant and Bar is a cherished local gem that celebrates authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. This inviting family-friendly eatery effortlessly combines traditional flavors with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a top choice for both casual dinners and special occasions.
The menu at Luigi's is a vibrant showcase of Italy’s rich culinary heritage. Start your experience with the crisp, golden Fried Calamari or indulge in the indulgently savory Eggplant Parmigiana Al Forno. Their seafood offerings shine with dishes like the Lobster and Shrimp Risotto — creamy, luxurious, and perfectly balanced — or the tender Baked Clams that burst with subtle briny goodness. Pasta lovers will be enchanted by house specialties such as the Pappardelle with Short Rib Ragu and Hand-Cut Gnocchi Bolognese, each bite enveloping you in hearty, slow-cooked flavors.
One cannot visit Luigi’s without sampling their renowned wood-fired pizzas, crafted to perfection with a delightfully thin, crisp crust. The classic Margherita, featuring San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil, transports you straight to Naples. More adventurous palates will appreciate the Mediterranean Pizza with its vibrant spinach pesto, roasted eggplant, and creamy goat cheese, or the Diavola Pizza, which balances spicy pepperoni with a drizzle of Mike’s hot honey for a perfect sweet-heat harmony. Every pizza is a rustic masterpiece, available for both dinner and takeout.
For those seeking a lighter yet flavorful option, the Market Bowls shine during lunch hours. The Miso Glazed Salmon Bowl is a refreshing fusion, featuring tender salmon atop jasmine coconut rice with crisp avocado and a zingy spicy cashew dressing — a nourishing and vibrant choice that complements the richer menu items beautifully.
Beyond the delectable food, Luigi's atmosphere enchants guests with its cozy, rustic charm. The bar area buzzes with a lively, vibey energy, while the dining space offers a more secluded, intimate experience enhanced by thoughtful and elegant design. Whether you choose to dine indoors or enjoy the private Garden room like many delighted patrons, the setting is perfect for everything from casual get-togethers to meaningful celebrations. Indeed, hosting events here has garnered high praise, with staff going above and beyond to accommodate and impress guests with attentive service and flawless catering.
Reviews from loyal customers consistently highlight Luigi’s ability to create not just a meal but an experience. From the warm welcome of fresh pasta sauce and breadsticks during your wait, to the generosity of portions like the satisfying Chicken Campagna and the decadently crunchy, creamy Fresh Strawberry & Banana Napoleon dessert, every visit leaves a lasting impression. While the restaurant can fill up quickly — a testament to its popularity — the buzz of activity only adds to the authentic vibrant charm of this Queens staple.
In sum, Luigi's Restaurant and Bar is more than an Italian restaurant; it is a lovingly crafted celebration of tradition, flavor, and conviviality. Whether you’re craving perfectly fired pizza, soulful pastas, or an inviting space to gather with loved ones, Luigi's offers a heartfelt and memorable dining journey that keeps patrons returning time and time again.
I recently hosted a Celebration of Life luncheon for 35 people in Luigi’s private Garden room. It was perfect. Luigi’s has been a family favorite for many years but I honestly didn’t expect their on-site catering to be so incredible. They checked all the boxes…and then some. They allowed us into the restaurant early to set up the room during which time the servers were on hand to help Guests were blown away by the outstanding family style appetizers which included Fritto Misto, House Made Fresh Mozzarella and Salumi Antipasto. We could have stopped right there and been happy Lunch included Classic Caesar and Marinated Beet salads, then Farfalle & Sausage, Chicken Parm and Prime Hanger Steak. All delicious For dessert we chose Tiramisu and NY Style Cheesecake. No complaints there As important as the food was the service. Cordial, genial, and on the mark. They waited patiently while the eulogy was delivered and made up the time with ease The Garden room, being in the rear, was quiet and unaffected by the popular, crowded, noisy dining room I would not hesitate to host another private event at Luigi’s.
Bit crowded when it comes to seating unless you get a booth. Fresh pasta and great pizza! Been coming here a lot and always enjoyed it
This restaurant is not a restaurant it is an experience you must to try The atmosphere, lights, tasty food, warm and cozy place, friendly staff members, and specially the tasty food They welcome you with pasto sauce with bread sticks until the food gets ready Then the salad was tasty and fresh, the main course with really a good full fully amount and the napoleon so crunchy and creamy .. Love it Definitely will go their again
Atmosphere: Very beautiful setting. The bar area has a rustic style to it and it’s very vibey. The Dining Area is more secluded which is nice, and has wonderful interior design. I enjoyed it alot because of it. ***It is a very popular and busy spot, if you are thinking to come here because it looks quieter, it is not*** which isn’t a bad thing, but it isn’t quiet- very loud. Service: They are decently quick- I didn’t have to wait for our meals too too long. Although long enough to question where our food was, just not long enough to ask our waiter. They had mistakenly placed a meal in our table that weren’t for us, and it was in the house when they realized. Food: The steak and the mashed potatoes are so divine, I still think about it today. The calamari was also good. The pasta is very hit or miss. The chicken parm was not good. But the portions are huge!!
We made reservation for Friday night dinner for party of 6 around 8pm and it was full house. We had to wait for 30 minutes even with reservation because big tables were not available yet. The fried calamari was good and nice portion (forgot to take pic) but the caesar salad was small portion and not worth ordering appetizer. We forgot to take pictures of the main course and the portions are good for sharing. We ordered too much and so much leftover. Highly recommended the Gnocchi with bologense sauce, pappardelle short rib ragu, chicken parm, grilled branzino.
The food at Luigi’s was delicious! We ordered the calamari, which was crispy and tasty; the chicken and spinach dish was great; the linguine with clam sauce was ok...a bit too much garlic than we like preferred. Super crowded as usual. Took awhile for waiter to come and took a bit for food to come. But the food was worth it.
Amazing experience! We had a great dinner at Louie’s.. We had the crab cakes, lobster salad, rolls, skirt steak and lobster. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Antonio was great. We were celebrating a birthday and he made it extra special. We can’t wait to come back and try other entrees.
